For this shoot with Baseline, an upcoming CrossFit clothing brand, the goal was to show the people behind it.
Baseline is built around athletes with personality. Not polished, not generic, but real, driven individuals. So instead of going for traditional clean portraits, we chose a more raw and expressive approach.
We shot a series of headshots using a wide-angle lens, pushing the camera closer than you normally would. This slightly distorts perspective in a way that emphasizes facial features and expression, making each athlete feel more present, more intense, more human.
